Argon 18 is pleased to present the E-112, by now a modern classic that has contributed much to the company’s reputation internationally. Developed alongside the iconic E-114, it has been the weapon of choice for champions such as Samantha McGlone, Luke Bell and Anna Cleaver.
The E-112 is also the choice of an impressive number of triathletes at every level worldwide. Blessed with spectacular lines reminiscent of a stealth fighter, the E-112 was made to go fast…very fast.  With Argon 18, you’ll discover the Optimal Balance of light weight, efficiency, comfort, all for the optimal expression of your athletic talent.


AFS Triathlon/Time Trial Geometry
AFS, with its intelligent take on a triathlon geometry, lets the rider easily set the most effective position, which in turn, makes it possible to stay on the tri bars more constantly, thanks to the ultra-stable ride and precise tracking through turns. With the E-112, staying in the aero tuck becomes possible even in challenging technical sections and on fast descents; this is how the E-112 helps you cut your times.
Stack height: a correctly proportional head tube length for every frame size
Every frame size features a correctly-sized head tube, making it easier for the user to set the appropriate position according to the optimal hip angle, regardless of the individual’s flexibility.

400mm chainstays

  • Long chainstays:  at 400mm in all frame sizes, they are longer than most of our competitors’ stays.  The result is increased stability at high speed as well as crisp, faultless shifting, every time… count on it.

 The best aerodynamic profile can only be achieved when the rider is well positioned on the bike; this is what AFS guarantees

  • In the world of time trial events, much emphasis is placed on the aerodynamic properties of bikes. While this is an important factor, in reality the cyclist generates up to 70% of the aerodynamic drag. This fact is at the core of Argon 18’s design philosophy. Our approach is that the rider and bike must form an integrated unit in order to optimize efficiency and achieve the best results. CFD analysis clearly demonstrates that once the rider is not in proper position, drag increases dramatically. Optimal positioning through AFS gives the rider the ability to remain on the armrests in the proper aero tuck position longer.
  • AFS geometry built into the E-112 guarantees tremendously accurate steering and extremely stable handling. This allows the rider to remain on the armrests in circumstances where it has not always been possible. For example, riders can remain in the perfect aero tuck position on the armrests during descents, on uneven roads, while hydrating and even when reaching into jersey pockets for nutrition.
  • The AFS approach ensures the rider can maintain a proper aero position longer through an easy, accurate fit therefore ensuring aerodynamic efficiency and the ultimate in performance.

3D Headtube
As with the E-116,  the E-112  is equipped with the 3D Headtube system, an Argon 18 exclusive. Easy to install and adjust, 3D replaces conventional spacers with a structural mechanism that allows for handlebar height adjustment without compromising front-end stiffness.
Enhanced positioning versatility and superior front-end rigidity

  • The 3D system lets the user choose from three effective head tube lengths for a given frame size for positioning flexibility. These lengths are as follows:
  • Basic head tube length, no 3D spacer
  • Basic head tube length + 15mm
  • Basic head tube length + 25mm
  • A rider can fine-tune the bar height without piling up an excessive number of conventional spacers, leaving the frame’s rigidity intact.  Thanks to 3D, a handlebar set at a 15mm height preserves 5% more stiffness over a similar conventional set-up, and this figure reaches 11% with a bar set at a 25mm height.
  • Since the 3D Headtube system offers three effective head tube lengths, a rider can set the right position initially, but can later revise this position as fitness, taste or riding style evolve over time.

An Integrated Design
From the drawing board to the road, the E-112 was conceived as a unit, with all its elements exhibiting complementary dynamic characteristics. Its many owners have commented on this “all-of-a-piece” impression that translates into a predictable, solid ride in even the toughest conditions. Apart from the monocoque 5655 HM carbon frame, the E-112 consists of:

  • The one-piece carbon E112 fork, specifically designed to enhance the frame’s impressive front-end stiffness.
  • The ASP-4000 reversible carbon seat post, offering either a 76* or 78* effective seat tube angle.

Wind Tunnel-Validated Aerodynamics
In wind tunnel testing with the wind at 40 kph, the approximate speed of the top triathletes at an Ironman distance, the E-114 showed an aero advantage of  up to 11% over the E-80, depending on wind yaw angle.

An 11% aero advantage in a triathlon amounts to a bike leg trump card…
The aero qualities of the bike itself are only half the story;  the better part of aerodynamic efficiency has to do with proper rider positioning.  This form of aero efficiency comes courtesy of the Argon Fit System geometry, implemented here in a  triathlon/time trial version.

5655 HM Carbon Composite
Argon's proprietary carbon fibre composite formula is specifically designed to enhance and benefit the OB concept.

Torque Specifications:

  • Seatpost collar: 4 Nm (lubricate collar bolt with grease and use anti-slip carbon assembly compound on post/seat tube).
  • Seatpost clamp adjustment bolts: 5 Nm.
  • Seatpost rocker clamp: 8 Nm.
  • Derailleur hanger bolts-front and rear: 4 Nm.
  • Bottle cage mounting bolts: 3 Nm.
